From Bruce:

On Monday, February 27 I received a phone call about 10:35 AM. It was from Mark Sutton. Two weeks before, Mark had been placed on the lung transplant list after four to five years of waiting to go through the process of being worked up for a lung transplant. He was told that it would be 5 to 7 months on the waiting list before he would be considered for a transplant.

The call was simple, "Bruce, we're on our way from Orlando to Gainesville. They have me a lung." Mark said.

I was stunned! I was excited! I was, well apprehensive as a physician with knowledge of what Mark was about to go through.

He went into surgery that evening and came out early the next morning. Within hours of his surgery, he was breathing without a ventilator and was moved out of the ICU. He was told he would be in ICU at least 7 days! On Wednesday morning bright and early Mark called me. I was stunned again. He was speaking without that breathlessness he had acquired. He wasn't coughing. And, he was on room air for the first time in years!

I have waited to post this in hopes that he would continue to get better and not have a down turn. So far, he has exceeded all expectations! In fact, he may get to leave the hospital on Tuesday, a week from his surgery! He was told he'd be in the hospital for up to 7 weeks!

What a powerful testimony to God! He is truly amazing and majestic and all knowing and all powerful and always, always full of surprises!

I want to thank everyone who knew of Mark's surgery and prayed for he and Donna. God has answered those prayers in a powerful way. Continue to pray for Mark's continued recovery and the weeks ahead that he does not suffer from rejection or complications. Frankly, I want us to get back to work on helping you Conquer Depression!
